I really liked the simplicity of this read. It was well organzied and gave me a concise vision of how to start conversations. It is most important to the person who does have a history of being shy, which I do. The author gives good advice anyone can follow and has an effective, to the point plan. A must read in this subject matter, as well as Conversationally Speaking : Tested New Ways to Increase Your Personal and Social Effectiveness.

I like this product I'm going back into the workforce and I needed a boost of confidence when talk with strangers. I also like the fact that I can put this on my nano verus reading a book were people can see what you are reading.

Book looked good, but CD is TERRIBLE

Given that Don Gabor is supposed to be a gifted conversationalist, I could not believe how incredibly awkward he sounds on this CD. I bought it to listen to in the car with my son, who has Asperger syndrome, and he recognized immediately that the sample conversations were stilted and unrealistic. Anyone who immitated the people on this CD would be a laughing stock at school or work.

While the ideas in the book are good, the CD is torture. Don't waste your money.

so so book. If you are terrible at conversations this book will help, but if you want to be really good, this book isn't very helpful. It is a good start however.

Excellent icebreakers

The best part of this book is how to break the ice. I never know how to start a conversation myself when talking to strange people at parties or social work functions. This gave me some great ideas how to just be curious about people and start conversations. Of course, after you start a conversation it is partial up to the other person to keep it going. That helps me get over the feelings of rejection.
